The Goddess Quan Yin
Inspiration and Guide
Quan Yin, Avlokishvara in the Hindu tradition, is the goddess of compassion. Her likeness, as represented by this figurine, has been with me since childhood. My father gave a similar statue to my mother before I was born. He was inspired to do so by the tender, graceful expression of the form. It reminded him of my dear mother. Seeing the representation of her almost every day, the goddess Quan Yin inspires me to act with kindness and compassion, to conquer fear with love. ~ Joy
